Adventure First

Jemma Wilson Events & Trailbound Moto present you with Adventure First - Beginners Edition. An Adventure Ride that is designed for you, the beginner adventure rider, but will also provide some challenging breakouts for those more experienced riders, or those of you who are looking to test yourself a little.
Spanning across two days of riding, this adventure will take you through the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland. You will get to ride both ‘famous’ ADV. roads and some roads less travelled.
Jemma and Luke (the bosses at Jemma Wilson Events and Trailbound Moto) are both passionate about providing you with the best experience possible.

Testimonials

The ride routes were so well planned, with paper maps as well as the GPX maps. Communication was great, food and stops were great. Venue was amazing, food was unreal, people were happy. All round fantastic weekend with a perfect balance of riding and hanging. I loved it and can't wait for the next one!

First up, Thankyou! To you and the team! I’m still buzzing about it and can't wait to get off-road again to try out the new tires and skills. Personally, I think the event as a whole went really well! Accommodation was amazing, the number of people wasn’t overwhelming and was just enough to feel included and part of a team. Having dinner, accommodation, and (of course) the beer included in the overall price was great too with no hidden surprise fees. The tracks suited my bike perfectly, and when it didn’t there were excellent bypasses in place. Obviously, I felt extremely lucky and grateful to have you coach me through the intercoms. Knowing there was a support car and plenty of crew really boosted my confidence which allowed me to relax more and actually enjoy what we were doing.

I thought the whole event was awesome…in fact the only downside for me since has been getting distracted from work researching my new adventure/dual sports bike. I really loved how totally focused I was in the technical bits. I also like the cornerman routine. It kept you involved with the rest group and allowed me to see how everyone was riding.

Jon Dazeley

Still buzzing!

Nic Leucht

Venue was amazing. The chill vibe, vibrant food, and amazing atmosphere was the highlight. Hearing everyone's stories around a fire with top-shelf snacks was what sums up classy motorcycle riding. The comradeship in the mornings was inspiring. Everyone helped and Nick and Noni out-performed themselves with opening up their home and shed. Tim was a real asset to the demanding nature of an extravagant event that had everyone feeling at ease without even knowing it. In Tim we trust. With the aid of intercoms I know a certain rider that got an absolute bang for buck experience that will be forever telling stories of his maiden trip through Bellthorpe, he's still buzzing... This felt like a family taking care of everyone.

FAQs

If you don't mind being a little outside that comfort zone... then ABSOLUTELY! We are catering to you... The main route is all very doable for a beginner adventure rider. We realise that there's nothing out there for beginner Adventure Riders so this is specifically designed for you, but we still want your more experienced friend to have a great time so we also have some harder route options.

Fantastic! A Relaxed Luxe style property with beautiful views of the Glass House mountains. Check it out HERE.

It's completely up to you! We will be riding most of the days so make sure you have something comfortable to wear in the evenings. It will be the middle of Winter and the Pavillian is semi outdoors, so be mindful to have some warm stuff too.

We will have a mechanic in our Support Vehicle to help you with whatever issues may occur. If there's nothing that can be done on track, you’ll still have the opportunity to have a great day in the Support Vehicle taking it easy and planning your next trip!

It is not required to carry any maintenance gear as we have our Mechanic on board the Support Vehicle. But for those who are a little more independent it's completely up to you what you bring. But for those who are a little more independent, load up your bike with all the things you could need.

  • Water (3L in camel pack)
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Towel - for cleaning goggles
  • Spare gloves
  • Sunscreen
  • Lip Balm
  • Moist Towelette for easy clean-ups before lunch
  • Phone and GoPro charging cords
  • Little bit of cash and license in a zip-lock bag

You can…

  1. This is where we’d usually suggest booking some time with Jemma herself to do some awesome Adventure Ride Coaching. Unfortunately, she has broken her wrist… again and will be back to riding just prior to the event. But any coaching is great coaching so have a search for Adventure Coaching in your area.
  2. Have a Google! It doesn't hurt to watch a few YouTube videos of different techniques and what to do or what not to do.

No you don't. Jemma, Luke and the team will help you to download and use the free Gaia App. We do however recommend a Quad-Lock Anti-vibration case and mounting system to hold your phone.

Yes! If you are riding with an Open licence holder. If you are coming on your own you may have to sweet talk an open licence rider to ride with you.

Yes you can, just make sure you both purchase a Rider Ticket, as we still need to fully cater for the pillion passenger (ie. food, medical, insurance, and full riders briefing).

Cold at night, but fingers crossed we've got crisp sunny winter days. There is always the chance that it will rain but rain will not scare us away. Your safety is my priority and if any dangerous weather is forecast I will let you know what the plan of attack will be. But be prepared and have a waterproof riding jacket with you!

Absolutely at HQ but not always on track.
